We all had hoped to start a new school year with the pandemic behind us. However, as public health reports grew more concerning, it was necessary to develop policies based on scientific indicators and risk-mitigation strategies. The current state of the pandemic–regarding South Florida’s alarming positivity rates and the highly contagious Delta and Omicron variants–requires us to act as one community: partnered in trust, responsible for one another and dedicated to our children. Please remember our core values and that our children model our behavior. As parents, teachers, and staff, we must continue to do our part to keep our school healthy and safe for all.

While we continue to monitor the COVID-19 developments throughout our community, we have policies in place mitigate the risk of exposure while continuing to offer the best learning experience for our students.

No. Children may remain at school upon the diagnosis of a positive classmate or teacher. Upon the rare event of more than one positive diagnosis in a classroom, additional protocols may be implemented. We will notify parents by email if further action is necessary.

Not yet. We will continue to monitor and provide updates under the guidance of our school’s Medical Advisory Committee. To prepare for a safe start to the new school year, school is open exclusively for students, staff and essential personnel.

We require parents to check your child’s temperature every morning before coming to school. A child with a temperature of 99.5 degrees F or above must stay home from school. Teachers will also check temperatures daily at 10:00 a.m.
